About the Glaze - With a history spanning more than 1,300 years, Mino ware is produced in Japan’s largest pottery region — the Tōnō area of Gifu Prefecture. This region includes a number of towns renowned for ceramic craftsmanship, including Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami and Kani.

These drippers are made in Dachi, a small pottery town within Toki, and each piece is finished with the “DACHI” mark impressed into the base as a sign of origin and pride of craft.

A Yōhen glaze is used in the finishing process, reacting unpredictably during kiln firing. As a result, no two drippers share the same colour or pattern — each one emerges with its own distinct character.
